2009 SCW Gewürztraminer

SKU 871785001694AA
The infamous “G” wine, known for its difficulty of pronunciation and its ability to elicit an exclamation of “Gee what a wine!” is actually an ancient Italian cultivar that may have migrated from Tramin, a village in northern Italy, across the Alps and into the rest of Europe.  Gewurztraminer, (pronounced Guh-verts-tra-mee-ner) essentially means spicy, or perfumed grape of Tramin.  The wine itself is of unparalleled character, and is often regarded as one of the most distinctive and flavorful white varietals in the wine community.   It may be difficult to pronounce, but is well worth the effort!
  • Wine Notes:
This vintage is lightly sweet, with a solid acidity and exotic floral scents of rose and lychee fruit. Serve with spicy food or chips and salsa!
