Rose wines have a mixed perception in the marketplace. Some people judge them to be simple, unappealing or even a soda pop variation for the unsophisticated. For others, they are the hallmark of summer and a refreshing quaff. Perhaps, rose wines have gotten a bad rap because too many people drink them with their clothes on, instead of enjoying them in the purest hedonistic manner. Gentle whole cluster pressing and a long, cool fermentation in stainless steel definitely makes this the finest Grenache Rose to ever come from South Coast Winery. The 2007 Grenache Rose has a vibrant color, dynamic fruit aromas, and crisp uplifting berry flavors that roll over the palate. Blending fruit from the two different vineyards gave a heightened effect of layers to this wine. So loosen your shirt, take off your shoes, put your feet up and live a little. Grenache is here!
