Temecula Valley
Harvested from Caster Estate Vineyards on August 21, 2007
The Musque Clone of Sauvignon Blanc is actually a hybrid cross of two star-crossed cultivars, Sauvignon Blanc and Muscat. When this actually occurred is not known, but the fruit from this clonal selection has the best character of both varieties. It is harvested from our Carter Estate Vineyards and represents the fourth harvest from this now seven year old vineyard. The floral, spicy nature of Muscat tempers the grassy, citrus character of Sauvignon Blanc resulting in a wine that is a cornucopia of flavors and aromas: sweet kiwi and lime, gooseberries and pears, passion fruit and wild flowers. Certainly a match made in the vineyard, but with heavenly results.
