SEMILLON 2007
Harvested from Huis Vineyards on September 16th, 2007.
Not many people think of Semillon; whether in passing, or even in situations where an exceptional, idiosyncratic white wine is needed. Typically partnered with Sauvignon Blanc or even Chardonnay, Semillon is not often thought of as a variety on its own. Certainly we want to change peoples’ minds, and give them a reason to think about the versatile and unique nature of Semillon. Besides being wonderfully refreshing, the signature characteristics are intense melon, delicate citrus and herbaceous aromas which are balanced against a crisp acidity and round finish. A small amount of Sauvignon Blanc (7%) caps off the blend and makes this wine a rich and very special treat indeed. Semillon may not be often thought of, but it will definitely not be forgotten.
