The long revered grape of Portugal, Touriga Nacional, was first planted at Wild Horse Peak in 2007. The climate and growing condition of our Southern California vineyard mirror many aspects of the Douro and Dão Valleys of Portugal. Touriga thrives here, and certainly the exotic fruit and floral characters are what make Touriga Nacional such an interesting cultivar. This wine shows characteristics of exotic rose petals and peonies, blueberries, lingonberries and blackberries with rich bittersweet dark chocolate.
