Grenache is a variety that encompasses a gamut of styles and growing regions; from Southern France where it is often blended with Syrah or Mourvedre, to Northern Spain where Tempranillo and Carignane may make up the better half. Usually lighter in color, tannins, and overall weight, Grenache is a very versatile and easy drinking red wine that is lively and loaded with bright cherry and other berry fruit characters. Aged for eighteen months in French oak, this Grenache has a wonderfully rich berry flavor, delicate notes of violets and lavender and warm spicy wood with a long smooth finish. This wine demonstrates the full range of what Grenache is capable of offering.
