Thunderbolt Block was aptly named because of a lightning strike that felled a century old oak tree in that corner of the vineyard. Our cines struggle in the shallow soils of Wild Horse Peak and this is evident in the concentration of color and flavor that these grapes deliver. This wine was aged in French oak and is brimming with a bouquet of crushed clove delicate floral notes of violets and lavender and framed with bright red cherry and cranberry fruit aromas. This is a very smooth and sleek wine with a long velvety finish.
